Te Kaika is a Kaupapa Maori health service provisioning wrap-around care by a diverse group of professionals dedicated to compassionate, values-driven service to their community. Work is based in our new Wellness Hub in Caversham, Dunedin and hours may be negotiated to suit your lifestyle. We're looking for a team member who is has the ability to support the cultural beliefs and aspirations of turoro and whanau, who has excellent communication skills, and a track record of sensitive engagement. You will be supported in your clinical practice by the Clinical Director, in your professional development and cultural competency by the Public Health Tuakana, and report ultimately to the General Manager – Health Services. With active participation in the health team, you will be encouraged to grow your knowledge and practice. Qualifications & experienceHas NZ Nursing Registration and a post-graduate education in prescribing.Can support the cultural beliefs and aspirations of turoro and whanauHas a strong ability to work collaboratively with GPs and other cliniciansHas excellent communication skills and a track record of sensitive engagementTasks & responsibilitiesCollaborative assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of treatment for turoro presenting with both undifferentiated diagnosis and complex needsSupport turoro to adopt health promotion strategies that promote healthy lifestyles and apply principles of self-care.Collaborative work environmentAccess to social services personnel and knowledgeEnvironment where you can make a difference for low-income communities Te Kaika provides high-quality, low-cost healthcare and social services for all Maori, Pasifika and low-income communities across the Otago region.
