The Network Support Officer role at Waitaki District Council offers an exciting opportunity to work within our Natural & Built Environment Directorate. You'll play a vital part in supporting the operational team, ensuring smooth delivery of contracts and effective corridor management. Key responsibilities include processing contract claims promptly, facilitating procurement, managing tender processes, and maintaining accurate records in line with Council policies.
This role requires someone with strong organisational skills, a commitment to customer service, and a passion for making a positive impact in our community. You'll be liaising closely with various teams, preparing performance reports, and helping ensure that operational excellence is achieved. Relevant Qualifications and Experience: A recognised tertiary qualification (Diploma level or NCEA Level 3) and a full NZ Driver's Licence. Experience in contract administration, tender procurement processes, and an understanding of health and safety practices are essential.Technical Skills: Proficiency with financial spreadsheets, maintaining numerical accuracy, and strong record-keeping abilities to ensure compliance with Council policies.Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-focused approach. Ability to work effectively within a team, supporting transparency and engagement across Council and with community partners.Organisational and Problem-Solving Abilities: Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and bring a solutions-focused approach to contract monitoring and data analysis.Waitaki District Council (WDC) is a dynamic and progressive local government organisation dedicated to serving the residents and communities of the Waitaki District.
