We put nature and people at the heart of our mahi, guided by te reo Maori, te ao Maori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.Sitting within the Organisational Support group, we have recently seen the establishment and centralisation of the Asset Management Unit which will form a 'Centre of Excellence'. This team will deliver a more efficient and streamlined asset management service across the department. This role can be located across either of our Wellington, Christchurch or Auckland locations.Reporting to the Director Asset Management, this newly created position will lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of DOC's Asset Strategy nationally.The position will be focused on:leading the development and implementation of DOC's Strategic Asset Management Planleading capital investment planning and prioritisation - ensuring alignment to DOC's overarching strategic outcomesproviding specialist asset management strategic advice and identifying key risks or issues in support of organisation strategies and business planscollaborating and consulting to key stakeholders regarding asset related policies, standards, processes, guidance and risksleading and developing a talented team providing clear guidance and structure to achieve key deliverablesensuring DOC operates as an honourable treaty partner.If you have some of the following attributes, we are keen to hear from you:Exposure in developing and implementing asset strategies which align to organisational goals and outcomes.A passionate and energetic leader and mentor who leads by example and empowers their team to achieve a common goal.Financial acumen, with the ability to apply accounting principles in relation to asset management.Strong understanding of asset management principles, systems and processes.A strong collaborator, you're able to build trust and influence stakeholders, taking on others opinions whilst remaining on track.Current full New Zealand driver licence.Understands the impact DOC and the wider public. sector/government has on the Maori-Crown relationship.The Department of Conservation /Te Papa Atawhai places importance on developing a culture where everyone can participate, thrive, and grow.
