Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sales Manager/Sales Representative to join our team. This role is crucial in driving our sales efforts, building strong customer relationships, and contributing to the overall success of our company. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the building and retail supply industry in New Zealand, along with exceptional communication and negotiation skills. This role is Monday to Friday 40hrs per week.

Strong understanding of sales principles, strategies, and techniques.
Ability to develop and implement effective sales plans to achieve targets.

Ability to understand customer needs and provide tailored solutions.
Commitment to providing exceptional customer service.

Market and Product Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the building and retail supply market in New Zealand.
Ability to stay updated with industry trends and competitor activities.
Comprehensive understanding of the company's product offerings and their applications.

Communication and Negotiation Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to effectively negotiate and close sales deals.
Skill in presenting product features and benefits to customers in a clear and compelling manner.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyse sales data, market trends, and customer feedback.
Strong problem-solving skills to address customer issues and improve sales strategies.
Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools.

Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across different departments.
Willingness to share knowledge and support team efforts to achieve common goals.
Capability to lead and mentor junior sales staff (for Sales Manager role).

Sales Growth: Consistently meet or exceed sales targets through effective sales strategies and customer engagement.

Customer Engagement: Proactively engage with customers to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions.

Market Presence: Actively participate in industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote the company and its products.

Reporting: Regularly prepare and present sales reports, including performance metrics and forecasts, to senior management.

Continuous Improvement: Continuously seek ways to improve sales processes and customer satisfaction.

Ethical Standards: Uphold the highest ethical standards in all interactions with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.

Qualifications: Proven experience in a sales role within the building and retail supply industry.
Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
In-depth knowledge of the building and retail supply market in New Zealand.
Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Relevant tertiary qualification in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
