Education is central to the Midwife Educator role, some key areas of focus for this role are (but are not limited to): Promoting excellence in midwifery / nursing practice within an interdisciplinary environment. Promoting the enhancement of clinical practice and the development of knowledge and skills for Midwifery / Nursing staff. Promoting and utilising research and evidence-based midwifery / nursing practice In collaboration with the New Graduate Programmes, provide support, education and resources to the new graduates to ensure programme requirements are achieved. Works alongside Clinical Midwifery Coaches and new staff. Supporting professional development for midwives and nurses (QLP & PDRP). Work collaboratively with midwives, nurses, medical colleagues as well as other educators within the wider PDU team to provide practice and professional development opportunities that enhance service delivery, quality and safety alongside improved patient outcomes. Strong knowledge of educational methodology. Stiving for equity for our populations who suffer poor health outcomes and providing training and resources on diversity, equity and inclusion. Mou ake | About you Alongside your clinical expertise, our ideal candidate will also be an excellent communicator with strong leadership skills and have a high level of interpersonal skills. You will have professional credibility in the maternity setting with the confidence and passion for supporting and developing our maternity team. Some of the skills we are looking for are: It is essential that you are a Registered Midwife and hold a current annual practicing certificate. Previous experience working either within the clinical area or relevant midwifery / nursing role. Experience and credibility with the health care team as a professional resource in speciality/practice area. Hold or be working towards a relevant post-graduate qualification is desirable.
