0.8 FTE - 32 hours per week (Wednesday to Saturday, with a rotating roster which includes day shift and evening shift)

About the Role
Canterbury Health Laboratories is the largest medical laboratory in the South Island and is a secondary/tertiary referral centre. Our laboratory is open 24 hours a day, providing timely results to our clinicians to ensure our patients are getting the right treatment, at the right time.
About the Team/Service/Location
Our Virology/Serology department is proud of its status as a leading-edge specialist laboratory providing diagnostic testing utilising molecular and immunoassay techniques on automated platforms. The department operates from 6am till midnight, 7 days per week.
About You
We are looking for applicants with experience in molecular virology and/or infectious serology but will consider applicants from other specialties. You must be registered (or eligible for registration) with the New Zealand Medical Laboratory Sciences Council and hold a current Annual Practising Certificate.
The successful applicant will be a highly motivated team player with excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail. In addition, you will possess effective time management skills and be able to work independently.
Registered with the Medical Science Council as a Medical Laboratory Technician
Molecular virology and/or serology experience is highly desirable
Adaptability and flexibility to work across different areas of the laboratory and different shifts
Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
