You will be trained to:Manufacture pooled platelets from buffy coatsManufacture cryoprecipitate from plasmaManufacture resuspended red cell, buffy coats and plasma from whole bloodUndertake Tissue Banking (Bone and Skin)Undertake Cryogenic processing of peripheral blood stem cells and bone marrow for transplantationPerform quality control testing on the products we manufacture such as bacterial testingDispense medicine to patientsAbout youTo be successful in this role you will:Be a Registered Medical Laboratory ScientistDemonstrate excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skillsHave the ability to achieve the targets and objectives of the serviceHave a self-motivated and positive attitude and are keen to learn new skillsHave the flexibility to fully participate in our roster that also includes evening, weekend and on-call work as requiredWhat we can offer youJob security knowing that you are part of a growing essential service organisationBeing part of a unique organisation, saving lives and making a positive difference to the health and wellbeing of New ZealandersA strong team culture working together to support safe provision of blood, blood products, tissue and organ servicesIf you are registered as a Medical Laboratory Scientist with the Medical Sciences Council of NZ or meet the requirements for registration and are looking for a technically challenging but rewarding role, then this role could be for you.Join us and make a difference with NZBS!
