Our specialist services also extend to cellular therapies and tissue banking, such as the provision of stem cell products, along with cardiovascular, skin and bone allografts. Through this work at the end of every day, you know that you've contributed to making a difference in someone's life.About the RoleHere's your chance to embark on a unique journey as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, joining our dedicated and expanding Cell and Tissue Laboratory (CTL) team at our Auckland location. You will play a pivotal role in receiving, processing, cryopreserving, storing, and dispensing critical hematopoietic stem cells (marrow and apheresis) to support the treatment of oncology patients. You will perform various specialised blood component processing services, unique to NZBS. As part of the team, you will contribute to the management of the national tissue bank, overseeing bone, skin, and heart valve processing, storage and issuing. This highly specialised area of work can be sensitive as it may involve the surgical retrieval of tissues from deceased donors for transplantation.NZBS is preparing the team for growth, building a new facility including cleanrooms, cryostorage and support areas. As part of the team, you will be involved in a variety of activities required to transition and work in this state-of-the-art GMP environment.About youYou are a registered Medical Laboratory Scientist recognised by the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand and possess prior experience in a laboratory, preferably in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment. You bring a positive, can-do attitude to work that is technically challenging, yet rewarding. As part of our dynamic team, you participate in the team's on-call roster as needed.
