Wairau Radiology is a key part of healthcare services at Wairau Hospital, offering a comprehensive range of imaging to support clinical care for the local community. Our team works collaboratively to deliver timely, accurate, and patient-focused imaging services, including X-ray, CT, ultrasound, and mammography, dedicating a gold standard service to a diverse patient population.
This casual role offers the flexibility to work as service needs require, making it an ideal fit for professionals looking to balance work and lifestyle. As a Medical Imaging Technologist, you will:
Work alongside a team of skilled professionals in a friendly, patient-centred environment.
Perform high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-ray, CT scans, and ultrasound, with accuracy and attention to patient safety.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely imaging that supports patient diagnosis and treatment.
Maintain and operate imaging equipment, adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
Provide compassionate care to patients, ensuring comfort and understanding throughout their imaging experience.
The full-time equivalent salary range for MITs working 80 hours a week is $74,842 to $104,466 (step 1-7) based on the current APEX Medical Imaging Technologists Collective Agreement, dependent on skills, experience, and registration in NZ.

The ideal applicant:
Is registered with the NZMRT Board and holds a current APC.
Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
Has strong communication and teamwork skills.
Has a commitment to high standards of patient care.
Is flexible and adaptable to varying shift requirements.
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ work visa at the time of applying.
