The Opportunity We are looking for an engineer to be based in Invercargill. You will be fairly senior (at least 5-6 years of experience) and with a good amount of project engineering experience. Experience within heavy industry would be ideal, but we would also be open to someone who has had project engineering experience across a variety of industries.
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will work on one project for one client at a time. Based in their team for the duration of this project, you will have the opportunity to work across various industries and types of projects.
While you will be embedded in this organization, you will still be connected to your Caliber colleagues with regular connections and touch points including regular team building activities and monthly drinks catch-ups. You will also have regular catch-ups with your technical lead to support you in your learning.
With projects lasting on average 3-6 months at a time, you will work across a diverse range of industries. You will provide your clients Mechanical and Project Engineering advice, expertise, and support in executing their projects. Communicating well with the client and other stakeholders, working to tight deadlines and prioritizing your work will be important parts of your daily work as you assist your client to ensure their project is running on time and within budget.

You will have:
A minimum Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering A minimum of 5-6 years mechanical engineering experience Project engineering experience across a variety of industries Solid commercial experience in mechanical design Proficient in CAD packages; particularly SOLIDWORKS and Inventor Well versed in FEA and calculations Excellent written and spoken English Remuneration & Benefits When you join Caliber as a Mechanical Engineer, you will earn an attractive hourly rate, plus overtime and KiwiSaver and other great benefits.
