Kiwitech International Ltd is in the market for a skilled practical mechanical engineer to assist in production, maintenance, product development from concept to prototyping, die-making, and production machine manufacture. Kiwitech is a small but fast-growing and very innovative manufacturing and exporting company.Currently, we are undertaking a large, very novel project aimed at transforming pastoral farming with a strong emphasis on sustainability. Applicants with a connection to grass-based farming and/or an interest in contributing to a mission aimed at turning NZ pastoral farming into an environmental champion are especially valued.Strongly preferred skills are:Precision machining with CNC experienceTool and die makingGeneral fitting, maintenance, and troubleshootingDesirable but non-essential skills are:CAD/CAMInjection moulding and general plastics manufacturingLean managementR&DEngineering theoryThis role can be adapted toward the skill set of the right applicant, so it is unnecessary to have experience/proficiency in all the above areas.As a small company manufacturing a wide range of products, plus a significant R&D program, this role offers variation and mental stimulation for someone who enjoys problem-solving and developing further skills.We are open to negotiation on terms and conditions of employment and believe that people should be paid according to their ability to add value to the company.
