Millennium Hotels and Resorts – Taupo, North IslandJoin our dedicated team at Millennium Hotel & Resort Manuels and Oasis Beach Resort, with 72 rooms in total, as a Maintenance/Landscape Assistant (Part-time). This varied and hands-on role reports to the Maintenance supervisor. This role will see you supporting the general maintenance and upkeep of the hotel's facilities and grounds, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for both guests and staff.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance and Repairs: Assist with routine maintenance, performing basic repairs, painting, plastering, and handyman tasks to keep the hotel in top condition.Landscape and Grounds-keeping: Maintain the hotel's grounds, including mowing, planting, trimming, and cleaning exterior areas to ensure a pleasant outdoor environment for guests.Health & Safety: Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, ensuring equipment is safely maintained and areas are secure for both guests and employees.Customer Service: Assist with resolving guest complaints related to maintenance, providing friendly and efficient service.Project Assistance: Support the maintenance supervisor/team with larger projects, renovations, or external contractor work, and assist with time-sensitive breakdowns or issues.Communication: Ensure timely and clear communication with the maintenance team and other departments regarding maintenance needs and schedules.Key Accountability & KPI'sCompliance: Follow health and safety protocols, ensure maintenance tasks are carried out according to hotel standards, and report any safety concerns.Grounds & Facility Upkeep: Maintain high standards of cleanliness and appearance for the grounds and ensure that hotel facilities are functioning properly.Timely Response: Respond promptly to maintenance requests, ensuring minimal disruption to guest services.Skills & RequirementsA Can-Do and Zero Negativity attitude is key.Previous maintenance, handyman, or grounds-keeping experience (hospitality experience preferred).Knowledge of health and safety practices in maintenance work.Ability to work independently and with attention to detail.Basic skills in painting, plastering, general repairs, and grounds maintenance.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle day-to-day maintenance issues efficiently.Physically fit due to the nature of the role.Flexible with working hours, including availability for occasional call-outs and weekend work.Balancing multiple tasks and projects during busy periods.Ensuring consistent communication with departments regarding maintenance needs.Managing unexpected breakdowns or repairs while maintaining routine tasks.If you are a proactive and experienced maintenance or landscaping professional looking for a flexible part-time role in a prestigious hotel environment, we would love to hear from you.Millennium Hotel & Resort Manuels and Oasis Resort is a Smokefree Property.Please apply with CV and cover letter by 15th November, 2024.All applicants MUST be legally entitled to live and work in New Zealand.
