He angitutanga | About the role

The Department's national predator control programme is looking for a motivated person to join our logistics team. As our Logistics Support Officer you will be responsible for ensuring that DOC predator control teams have the supplies and equipment they need to be successful. That means coordinating the flow of toxins, traps, helicopters, contractors, and equipment to remote locations all over New Zealand.

The position will be focused on:

Coordinating delivery of supplies, equipment, and materials to remote field locations.

Managing contracts and processing invoices for service providers and contractors.

Supporting DOC staff and contractors in predator control operations across New Zealand.

Ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety requirements in transportation and logistics.

Identifying and implementing process improvements in logistical planning.

Maintaining accurate records and problem solving when things don't go to plan.

If you have some of the following, we are keen to hear from you:

Excellent relationship management and communication skills.

Strong organisational and planning abilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Knowledge of predator control best practices and DOC internal standards.

Experience in logistics, supply chain management, or related field.

Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Familiarity with health and safety protocols in field operations.

Basic understanding of te reo and tikanga Maori.

Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and processes.

Full New Zealand Driver's Licence.

The salary range for this position is $68,535 to $86,423 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.
