Primary Objectives
The Logistics Manager Penrose is responsible for ensuring the timely dispatch of all freight (in-bound/outbound international, short haul, local & national) on the day of injection to achieve Aramex delivery standards and meet Aramex Linehaul timetables.
The key responsibilities are:
Manage the freight operations between the Penrose and Northshore depot.
Full responsibility for loading/unloading operations; Inbound freight processing and health & safety.
Manage the process for loading and unloading of all vehicles in a safe and timely manner.
Provide a summary of daily activity in an agreed format to the Head of Operations.
Ensure accurate load plans are provided to the Taupo and Christchurch ALL hubs in the prescribed format each night.
Manage and ensure that we strive to achieve maximum cage utilization (pack out) to minimize excess charges.
Minimize misdirected freight by the loading team and ensure all misdirected freight sent to Auckland is scanned and placed in the correct destination cage daily by 9 am.
Notify ALL management of any damage to ALL trailers and manage damaged cages and/or parts in conjunction with ALL management.
Ensure yard, consolidation area, and the depots are kept clean and tidy, both are to be swept daily.
Support the Auckland Management team to drive a high performing and engaged culture in Aramex Auckland.
Strong people management experience to develop a high performing team and proactively manage any people issues as required.
Contribute key updates and information at senior management meetings as required.
Provision of a weekly & monthly report to the Head of Operations outlining the week's/month's achievements/activity in a predefined format.
Adherence to all company policies and procedures whilst performing all duties that are required in the role.
Ensure that the company complies with all obligations under the company's Regional Franchise agreement with Fastway Couriers (NZ) Ltd.
Adherence to the Aramex Auckland Policy and Procedures document.
Undertake other tasks as directed by the Head of Logistics from time to time.
Ensure compliance with Aramex policies, procedures and workplace safety requirements.
Act as a Health and Safety Coordinator for Aramex Auckland.
Compliance:
Depot compliance score of 95% as measured by Aramex Auckland.
Depot and yard cleaned and maintained daily.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience
Minimum 5 years experience managing a team.
Fork hoist license and experience essential.
Competent written and verbal communication skills.
Competent analytical skills.
Competent email, internet and Microsoft Office skills.
Position Scope
Full-time role Monday to Friday.
Occasional work out of normal hours as per business requirements.
Base location - Penrose depot.
