Role Overview: The Legal Advisor will join Payments NZ's dynamic legal team, providing essential legal oversight, drafting new policies and regulations, and ensuring effective governance and risk management. Reporting to the General Counsel, the Legal Advisor will work closely with senior legal advisors and other teams across the organisation. Key Responsibilities: Provide general legal advice across Payments NZ. Draft and review policies, regulations, and governance documents. Manage and mitigate legal risks. Oversee compliance with legal obligations. Produce and review meeting notes and governance documents. Support the legal team in regulatory reviews and stakeholder engagement. Qualifications: Qualified lawyer with at least 5 years of post-graduate experience. Strong background in regulatory affairs and policy drafting. Excellent writing skills. A comprehensive understanding of commercial legal principles, in particular, the Commerce Act 1986, and the ability to identify legal and commercial risks and issues. High EQ and IQ, with strong stakeholder management skills. Team player, self-starter, professional, and adaptable. Benefits: $150K - $160K annual salary.
