Legal Administrator Litigation and Finance Legal Administrator Litigation and Finance Chapman Tripp is New Zealands leading law firm We deliver the highest levels of legal and business performance to our clients we are strategic commercial decisive and personal We stand for the highest levels of performance Our lawyers work on projects that are helping define New Zealands future and as part of our team youll be in the thick of the action If you are talented and looking to make a difference Chapman Tripp has the resources reputation and mindset to propel you to the top About the role We are looking for two outstanding fulltime legal administrators to join our Auckland office The ideal candidates will have had previous experience as a personal assistant or legal secretary preferably with Litigation and or Finance experience as well as a strong service orientation and work ethic These challenging and varied roles provide the opportunity to work with some of the sharpest legal minds in the market You will work in a busy yet social and supportive team You will provide high quality administrative support services including document production email and diary management client database management and incoming outgoing communications Relevant Skills and Experience Experience as a legal secretary or personal assistant is essential ideally in a legal or professional services environment Excellent written verbal and proofreading skills Excellent attention to detail Outstanding organisational and time management skills Remain calm and composed under pressure Positive can do attitude Builds effective relationships with authors and the wider team Provides excellent client service acting in a professional discreet and service oriented manner Provides proactive responsive and high quality work Position Specific Tasks for Finance Experience using external sites such as The Companies Office Landonline New Zealand Limited and the Personal Property Securities Register primarily for searching but also in the case of the PPSR in relation to registration of financing statements and related administration High Court searches Position Specific Tasks for Litigation Pleadings Identifying documents for pleadings files and keeping these updated and photocopying where necessary Maintaining master pleadings files Including promptly updating contents and Index and copying and distributing as necessary Court database Entering cases Into Court database and ensuring availability for all users and ensuring that these are easily Identified by any users identify update and amend cases when necessary create court documents when necessary being conversant with online searching of Companies Office records Court filing Preparing and organise documents for filing at the relevant Court and photocopy documents for files ensure confirmation is received that documents have been filed and the return of documents information where necessary ensure invoice is returned and account details have been entered and sent to accounts organise cheque for filing fee when sending documents to another registry having knowledge of all jurisdictions of the Court system and Court fees maintain Court filing for the team Cases Photocopying of cases from books Document Production Being familiar with the preparation of List of Documents and Merged Pleadings and other Court document templates Minute taking Attend meeting and record minutes action list For more information about this role please contact our recruitment team at Recruitment chapmantripp com Only those legally entitled to work in New Zealand may apply for this position No CVs from agencies please www chapmantripp com
