Lecturer/Senior Lecturer - Geographic Information Science The School of People, Environment, and Planning (PEP) at Massey University is a dynamic, multi-disciplinary school within the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. We offer a range of traditional social science disciplines, including Geography, Anthropology, Sociology, and Politics, as well as professional and professional-adjacent programmes such as Resource and Environmental Planning, the Centre for Defence and Security Studies, the Institute of Development Studies, and Museum Studies.
We are seeking a highly motivated Lecturer or Senior Lecturer to support the design, development, and delivery of our Geographic Information Science (GIS) courses. This is an ongoing, full-time position based at our Palmerston North campus.
About the Role:
Teach and coordinate undergraduate and postgraduate courses in GIS.
Provide leadership for the Postgraduate Diploma in Geospatial Science .
Engage in research, with a preference for expertise in urban, environmental, or climate change fields.
Contribute to the Geography discipline, which has strong connections with Resource and Environmental Planning and other disciplines within the School.
Qualifications and Expertise:
PhD in a relevant field.
Strong knowledge and skills in spatial data structures, cartography, programming, spatial statistics, and spatial data analysis .
Research expertise in the urban, environmental, or climate change space is particularly desirable.
Salary Range:
Senior Lecturer: $101,724 - $143,948 (Salary based on qualifications, skills, and experience)
