Job Description

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

This exciting new role offers a passionate, dynamic academic with a strong background in Cyber Security an opportunity to develop and deliver to the continuously growing success of our program and can complement the Cyber Security expertise already present in the school.

As a Lecturer, you will ensure that our students will have a positive learning experience that is informed by up-to-date research and supported by creative learning technologies. This role will contribute to the development and delivery of courses with a focus on usable security, user-centred cyber security, cyber security in the contest of AI and ML, cryptography, data sovereignty, hardware-based trustworthy computing, digital forensics, software and hardware security, and security in emerging applications, as these are areas of priority.

Our academics undertake research across a wide range of computing fields: software engineering, data science, algorithms and theoretical computer science, cyber security, communication and information technology, and systems development and evaluation. We teach in the Bachelor of Science, Technology, and Engineering programmes as well as supporting a vibrant postgraduate programme that attracts top quality Masters and PhD candidates.

Your contributions will include world-class research, publishing in world-class journals and conferences, securing research grant funding, high-calibre teaching as well as supervision of capstone projects and dissertations at the Master and PhD level.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

A PhD in Cyber Security or an area closely related to Cyber Security

Experience as a Postdoc/Research Fellow

Strong track-record of research as evidenced by peer reviewed publications in high-reputable conferences and journals in the field of Cyber Security

Demonstrated research and grant funding success

Evidence of curricula design and teaching at undergraduate/postgraduate levels

Demonstratable potential to build sustainable relationships with industry partners and evidence of the ability to promote partnerships with external/professional organisations/agencies.

Relevant teaching qualification and/or related tertiary teaching experience.

Have an established network of collaborators

Capable of successfully teaching Cyber Security courses

Industrial experience and/or experience of collaborative research with industrial partners would be a significant advantage

This is a permanent, full-time 1 FTE ( 40 hours per week ) role.

Remuneration: L1-L7, $94,981 to $113,463
