We are now seeking a learning support teacher to work as part of a team with the inclusive learning leader, learning support coordinators and the deputy principal (learning support). The teacher will be responsible for teaching all learning areas of the NZC to learners across Y7–10 in a way that gives learners choice and agency, while still gaining necessary skills and knowledge. The role will require a practitioner who is open to continuous learning and development of inclusive practices, responding adaptively to the evolving needs of students. This is an emerging job description and is likely to include the following responsibilities, depending on the students' needs: Have deep knowledge of supporting learners with additional learning needs and be able to support and deliver programmes for these learners, from Y7 through to Y10 with a particular focus on Literacy, Numeracy and Social/ Emotional learning. Collaborate and co-teach with the learning support teaching team to design, deliver and assess programmes of learning to students with Learning Support needs. Work with the inclusive learning leader, other professionals and families/whanau to design, implement and monitor Individual Education Plans relevant to individual learners.
