Patea Area School is looking for a kaiako who is passionate about young people and pastoral care. The position comes with 15 hours of non-contact time per week. These hours are to be used to monitor, evaluate and support the pastoral needs of our students. This time could be used to track attendance, analyse behaviour data, work with outside agencies, set up programs within the school and work with students and their whanau.
We are a PB4L school, so a sound knowledge of this and restorative practices would be preferred. As we are an area school, experience across both primary and secondary sectors would be great but not essential.
Finally, the remaining hours would be utilised in teaching areas of strength, and we could work around any subject knowledge the applicant has.
