Purpose
The Lead Trainer & Auditor is responsible for the development and delivery of best practice training and field auditing to the project. Delivering trained and competent people to the field and monitoring that they complete work safely, efficiently and to our quality expectations are key responsibilities of this role.
Creation and development of training & auditing documentation and the planning, coordination and delivery of training and auditing for the project.
To review and update training & auditing processes and documentation to continuously improve it and to roll improvements into the delivery of training and auditing.
Responsibility for training delivery, competency assessment and documenting results compliant with training and competency standards.
Carry out field auditing of work in progress and completed work to meet our audit KPI, but importantly to test that our safety, quality and process expectations are being applied in the field. Where noncompliance is identified, record this for trending and provide field coaching to field techs to resolve any issues. To keep abreast of all relevant information, including but not limited to audit, training and investigation reports, identify areas for further training and development then roll out training initiatives that address gaps and drive continuous improvement.
Accountabilities & Objectives
Practice, Policies, and Procedures
• Ensures all training procedural documents are reviewed within required timeframe, are current, meet the latest codes and relevant legislation and are always followed.
• Support the work line managers do with the implementation of relevant policies, practices and procedures as appropriate for new work.
• Through auditing and “Management by Walking Around” monitor & review application of our policies, practices & procedures in the field. Be quick to acknowledge good performance, be equally quick to address and rectify non-conformances.
Operational Excellence
• Retain accurate records for the relevant codes and standards that apply to training and auditing functions.
• Assists with all other business unit technical requirements. Provides accurate SME advice to stakeholders on areas of expertise.
• Participates in internal and external stakeholders’ forums and projects.
• Monitors all training and auditing to ensure all training and auditing records are complete, accurate and returned.
• Collates all required training & auditing records and saves them securely so that they are easily retrievable.
Learning & Development
• Develop, lead and facilitate training sessions to ensure stakeholders are trained in all procedures and processes in relation to their roles and responsibilities.
• Keeps up to date with the relevant codes, alerts and legislation and incorporates changes and updates into training & auditing documentation. Follow up to ensure these are effectively communicated and implemented with the right people throughout the organisation and are applied in the field.
• Keep up to date with training and learning techniques and incorporate these into training and auditing delivery.
• Work with the trainers and auditors to explore and ultimately provide other modes of training to meet organisational and learners needs and to deliver consistent high-quality training and auditing across the project.
Performance Management
• Be responsible for and take ownership of Training & Auditing outcomes.
• Be responsible for reporting, trend identification and adjusting training and auditing to address any gaps.
• Monitor and moderate Training and Auditing to ensure consistency.
• Lead, engage and bring other stakeholders on board to deliver continuous improvement.
• Analyses incident, audit, training and photo checking trends and ensures trends identified are built into training modules to further support continuous improvement.
• Identify any performance issues with training and audit delivery and addresses and resolve.
Training & Auditing Delivery Reporting
• Implement a suite of reports that communicate actual training & auditing delivery against planned delivery.
• Shine a light on training & audit results, trends and initiatives that address gaps and deliver continuous improvement
• Develop, implement and keep updated a register of all Technicians, their training history, their core competencies and the work types they are approved to complete.
• Develop and implement exception reporting that clearly communicates where corrective actions from auditing are becoming overdue and where core competencies are due to expire and/or require refresher.
Health and safety

• Incorporate group health and safety management protocols within your daily activities to eliminate, isolate or minimise hazards and risk exposure in order to prevent harm to people and the environment, and to minimise losses or damage to equipment and assets.
