The role In this role, you will have the opportunity to apply your excellent analytical chemistry experience to help the laboratory achieve its commercial goals focused on the renewable geothermal energy industry.
Your work will support both domestic and international geothermal industries in the management of geothermal reservoir operations and greenfield geothermal developments.
You will have the opportunity to apply or develop your skills on a wide range of modern analytical equipment, becoming a technical expert in your area of work.
Some of the techniques you will be using include: Thermo Fisher/Agilent ICP-OES and -MS About you The ideal candidate will have the following: A tertiary qualification in chemistry or a desire to work in an analytical chemistry laboratory Practical knowledge of and experience in laboratory equipment and procedures Ability to work to strict procedures in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory Good knowledge of quality systems and the ability to solve technical problems Meticulous attention to detail, including clear and accurate record keeping Effective communication and computer skills Experience with a Laboratory Information Management System would be an advantage Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team and to cooperate with colleagues Ability to relate to clients and support the laboratory's customer-centric culture If you want to work for a dynamic, progressive and multi-cultural organisation, then GNS Science could be the place for you.

The position is for permanent, full-time (38 hours per week) employment and is based at our campus in Wairakei, Taupo.
The salary range for this position is between $64,935 to $72,150 depending on the successful candidate's experience.
