Laboratory Chemist – (Subject Matter Expert)Utilise your wide laboratory knowledge and experience to provide technical leadership in testing and analysis.Independent Petroleum Laboratory (IPL) is a fully independent laboratory that provides fuels, industrial and environmental laboratory testing services to a wide range of customers throughout New Zealand and the South West Pacific, operating two IANZ accredited laboratories in Marsden Point and New Plymouth.The job.As a Chemist (Subject Matter Expert), you will be responsible for providing technical leadership in laboratory testing services.In particular, you will:Maintain and ensure continuous improvements in laboratory processes and procedures.Develop and implement new methods.Share your technical knowledge and assist in upskilling and training others.Ensure laboratory quality control to ISO 17025 (including maintenance, testing and calibration).Lead projects and provide technical support.Problem solve, repair and maintain scientific equipment.The person.We are looking for someone with:Relevant chemical tertiary qualifications.At least 5 years' experience working in a laboratory environment.Proven technical knowledge of scientific equipment.Sound knowledge of ISO 17025.Good mechanical aptitude.This job requires a person motivated by growth and success, underpinned with quality, compliance with a drive to solve problems and deliver excellence.Apply now.On offer is the chance to join a busy, fun-loving, collaborative team, open to new ideas and a company looking to the future with exciting times ahead and a growing customer base.
