Details of the offer

We Want You!!! - Kiwifruit Picking Jobs Now AvailableCome along to the beautiful Bay of Plenty to experience a unique part of New Zealand's horticulture industry. We are currently looking for people interested in kiwifruit picking jobs. We are located in Te Puke, the heart New Zealand's kiwifruit industry. This central location means that we have work available for another couple of weeks. We offer highly competitive pay rates as we employ our staff directly. Contract rates when converted back to hourly have been as high as $34 per hour and typically average roughly $25 - $27 per hour.We do not sub-contract our staff to other picking contractors or growers. This enables us to ensure that our people are paid correctly and in accordance with New Zealand laws. It also means that there is no middle man taking a portion of staff wages, a common occurrence in many horticultural industries. Another benefit of direct employment is the high level of communication. People always know what is happening for the day and where and when work will commence. Perhaps best of all, we are not a backpackers' lodge, so you are free to stay wherever suits you! This being said, we have some contacts for those living in their vehicle and require basic shower and toilet facilities. No prior experience in the horticulture industry is necessary. However, an interest in working outdoors and as a member of a team is essential. Applicants will need to be highly motivated, fit and have high standards. This is a physical job where you get paid predominantly on a contract basis, which means the more fruit you pick, the more you will get paid.Requirements of employment:Current working holiday visa and IRD numberOwn transportEnjoys working as a member of a team Enjoys working outdoorsReasonable English-speaking skillsReasonably fit Strong work ethicNZ mobile numberWe also have tractor driving, and supervisor positions available. If you are also interested in either of these roles, please mention this in your job application. For further information, photos and videos about our business and to find a job application form please visit our website: www.pietershorticulture.co.nz or apply right here on backpackerboard.
