Kaitiaki Marae - Marae Technician

The Kaitiaki Marae role at EIT involves managing the marae facilities, ensuring they are well-maintained and ready for use by both internal and external groups. This position requires strong organizational skills and a deep understanding of Maori culture and protocols. This is a part time role.
The appointing salary for this role will be between $54,810 and $61,112 FTE, dependent on skills and experience.
The Kaitiaki Marae - Marae Technician is based in our Te Uranga Waka | Te Pukenga reporting to the Pouarataki, Head of School and Poutuara, Assistant Head of School, Te Uranga Waka and will be responsible for:
Manage marae bookings and liaise with the Timetable Coordinator.
Organize IT and facility requirements for bookings, including parking permits and Wi-Fi passwords.
Ensure the cleanliness and readiness of the wharenui, wharekai, and kauta before and after events.
Conduct regular stocktakes and maintain communication with staff regarding marae needs.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Good administration skills and knowledge of the Maori language and culture.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
Ability to work unsupervised and manage time effectively.
Understanding and appreciation of local marae protocols and cultural sensitivity.
