About the Role
As a Kaimahi Hauora, you'll be at the forefront of providing essential support to individuals with long-term injuries or disabilities. Your role will involve delivering personalized, Kiritaki (client) centered care in their homes and within the community. Guided by our core values, you'll help create a supportive, respectful, and culturally safe environment for those we serve.
What You'll Do
Provide Hands-On Support: Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation. Offer medication support, mobility assistance, and help with daily household duties.
Engage and Connect: Build meaningful relationships with Kiritaki and their whanau (families) while embracing their unique cultural needs and preferences.
Collaborate and Communicate: Work closely with our clinical staff and community agencies to ensure high-quality care and effective support.
Promote Independence: Encourage self-determination and assist Kiritaki in accessing community resources and activities.

What We're Looking For
Preferred:
Qualifications: Working towards or already holding a Level 2 Health and Wellbeing Certificate. Higher levels may be required for supporting complex needs or brain injuries.
Experience: Previous experience as a support worker or work in the health-care sector.
Skills: Strong communication abilities in English, teamwork, and a genuine understanding of Kiritaki needs.
Attributes: Respectful, adaptable, and proactive, with a professional and trustworthy demeanour.
Empathy: Understanding of the unique challenges and needs associated with living with a life impacting injury or disability.
License and Vetting: A full driver's license, a clean police vet result, and satisfactory references.
