Kaiarataki Ako - Lead Educational Delivery

Details of the offer

Mo matau | About us
As a proudly indigenous tertiary educator, 'tauira success' is our mission and 'whanau transformation through education' is our vision, guiding our commitment to delivering quality education programmes underpinned by Maori culture and values.
Our kaimahi (employees) enjoy a whanau-friendly workplace and a great range of benefits to support their wellbeing and that of their whanau:

Free health and life insurance for permanent kaimahi.
For permanent kaimahi, four extra leave days each year to celebrate Matariki and Christmas, plus special leave available for those involved in cultural or sporting events.
Flexible work hours for non-rostered positions and work-from-home options for positions that can be performed remotely.
Free car parking at our main campuses.

Mo tenei mahi | About this job
As Kaiarataki Ako, your key focus will be the implementation, management and monitoring of programmes across the takiwa (region). In doing this, you'll provide effective leadership and management to a team of 6 Kaiwhakahaere Ako (Managers – Educational Delivery) located in Taranaki, Whanganui, Heretaunga, Levin and Papaioea.
Other than the day-to-day requirements of the position, which are outlined in the position description (link below), this is a very real chance for you to be a fresh set of eyes on things. You'll be empowered by the takiwa leadership team and have the support of your direct reports and other Kaiarataki Ako within the takiwa, to continue to review and enhance the tauira experience and future-proof our academic programmes.
Mou | About you
You'll be an exceptional people leader who has successfully coached and developed highly capable, engaged teams. You'll be able to demonstrate how you've achieved results through others, guided and empowered managers to be successful leaders, and created a culture of trust and accountability where people take ownership of their results.
It is important that you are someone who is able to uphold the mana and tikanga of Te Kei takiwa, while also being a leader and driver of Kaupapa Maori.
Your experience as a tertiary educator will give you the credibility and understanding you need to influence others, make sound decisions and guide improvements in your space. That experience will also allow you to effectively monitor and measure programmes, analyse and report on results, and ensure compliance and best practice at every turn.
This role will require you to travel to other campuses within the takiwa, so a full drivers' licence and the flexibility for occasional overnight stays are required.
While not essential, a Masters' qualification in Education or a Post Graduate qualification in education or research would be ideal as would experience delivering programmes in a kaupapa Maori environment. Fluency in te reo Maori would be very useful in this position but, again, is not essential; more important is your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Ahuatanga Maori (values, culture and tikanga).
As a kaupapa Maori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Ahuatanga Maori (values, culture and tikanga) will be key.
Tonoa i tenei ra! | Apply today!
If we've outlined a role that matches your capabilities and aspirations, and a workplace that appeals, apply today as applications may close earlier or as soon as we have a suitable shortlist.
