This permanent, full-time role (37.5 hours per week) starts in January 2025.
This is a Reo Rumaki (Total Immersion) course, requiring proficiency in te reo Maori, along with proven experience in delivering and teaching the language to adult learners. We are particularly interested in Kaiako who are creative and adaptable in their teaching methods, able to cater to the diverse learning needs of tauira at various levels.
To succeed in this role, you must be proficient in te reo Maori and capable of delivering lessons entirely in the language. We are looking for a confident Kaiako who brings energy and creativity to their teaching. You should be open and dedicated to sharing and enhancing te reo Maori skills with both your fellow team members and tauira.
You will also bring with you:
A Bachelor's Degree in Te Reo Maori (Level 7 or higher) or be willing to work towards this qualification and possess the relevant life experience.Diploma in Adult Teaching (Level 5) or equivalent.National Certificate in Literacy and Numeracy (Level 5) (Vocational).Full and current New Zealand Driver's License.3+ years' experience teaching full immersion te reo Maori.3+ years' experience teaching adults.As a kaupapa Maori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Ahuatanga Maori (values, culture and tikanga) will be key.
