Job Summary
As an Internal Auditor at AFC Group Holdings Limited, you will play a key role in assessing and strengthening our internal control environment, focusing on compliance, risk management, and operational efficiency. This role is distinct from day-to-day accounting functions and centers on evaluating, improving, and advising on the systems that govern AFC's diverse business activities.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and carry out audit plans to review financial, operational, and compliance controls across AFC's divisions, including specialized areas like winemaking and skincare manufacturing.
Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with company policies, ensuring systems safeguard AFC's assets and financial integrity.
Conduct risk assessments to identify potential financial, operational, and regulatory risks in AFC's cross-border and domestic operations. Provide recommendations for mitigating these risks to ensure the organization operates within a secure and compliant environment.
Serve as an advisor on compliance with New Zealand corporate regulations and specific industry standards. Focus on supporting AFC's commitment to regulatory compliance.
Analyze internal processes for cost-effectiveness and efficiency, particularly in manufacturing and sales divisions. Identify and recommend opportunities to streamline operations and reduce costs, focusing on strategic improvements.
Prepare and present audit reports to senior management, detailing audit findings, compliance issues, and suggested improvements. Ensure clear, actionable feedback is provided to support AFC's financial and operational resilience.
Review and monitor treasury operations and related policies, ensuring effective management of cash flow and foreign currency exchange risks. This oversight is distinct from daily bookkeeping and supports broader financial strategy and stability.
Track and evaluate the implementation of corrective actions recommended in audit reports, ensuring AFC's divisions address compliance and operational weaknesses in a timely manner.
Conduct specialized audits and investigations as required, addressing specific concerns or irregularities within financial or operational activities. This includes delving into issues that may require more depth than standard financial reconciliation.
Work closely with senior leaders to ensure audit insights inform financial planning, risk mitigation, and strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Experience: Preferably a minimum of 2 years work experience in auditing, or professional certifications such as CPA, CA, or CIA.
Skills: Strong analytical skills, knowledge of compliance and risk management practices, excellent report-writing abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
