About the role
Join our supportive and tight-knit team as an Infrastructure Officer and play a vital role in enhancing our community's parks and open spaces. This position focuses on effective management, maintenance, and community engagement, ensuring that our public spaces are enjoyable and well-maintained for everyone.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing specifications and supporting the maintenance and development of parks, reserves, cemeteries, playgrounds, public toilets, and wharves to provide enjoyable spaces for all.
Managing contracts and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and contractors, ensuring work quality meets Council standards and aligns with organisational goals.
Identifying and driving improvements in parks and open spaces, with a focus on sustainability and biodiversity.
Coordinating responses to customer issues and working with suppliers and contractors to ensure solutions align with work programmes and organisational efficiency.
Contributing to asset management data and health and safety systems to uphold compliance and best practices.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
Experience in parks & recreation and in managing customer and supplier relationships.
Contract or project management experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft products.
Up to date Health and Safety knowledge.
The ability to work independently.
A valid New Zealand driver's license.
