Mo te tunga | About the role We are seeking an experienced Immunisation Co-ordinator to join our dedicated Population Health Team.
As a crucial member of our team, you will collaborate strategically with Health New Zealand Te Tai o Poutini.
This role involves working in diverse settings throughout the West Coast, utilising nursing knowledge and complex nursing judgment to support on-time immunisation provision.
Key Responsibilities: Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with Health New Zealand Te Tai o Poutini and Immunisation Governance Group to achieve the aims and objectives of the Immunisation contract.
Immunisation Provision: Utilise nursing knowledge to ensure timely and effective immunisation provision, contributing to the improvement of individual health and well-being while reducing the burden of vaccine-preventable diseases in the region.
Leadership and Advocacy: Take a leadership role in promoting immunisation, addressing immunisation challenges, and advocating for the benefits of immunisation.
Coordination and Facilitation: Facilitate and coordinate immunisation provision in various settings, ensuring seamless delivery of services across the West Coast.
Surveillance and Safety: Monitor vaccine-preventable diseases, ensuring the safe delivery of immunisation programs and mass vaccination campaigns.
Nga pukenga me nga wheako | Skills and experience Essential: Registered Nurse with a current NZNC Practicing Certificate.
5+ years of post-registration relevant nursing experience e.g.
Primary Practice setting and/or with health promotion/education activities.
Vaccinators Certificate (Adult & Child).
Understanding of Principals of Public Health & Ottawa Charter.
Commitment to the overarching objectives of the New Zealand Health and Disability strategies.
Understanding of vulnerable children and relevance to Immunisation Service delivery.
Completion of, or personal commitment to undertake, cultural competency training.
Computer literacy, including proficient use of standard software: MS Office suite / Outlook, Excel & Power Point.
CPR Certificate - Level 4.
Current driver's license with no restrictions/clear record.
Desirable: Relevant PG qualifications in nursing e.g., PG Certificate in Primary Health Care Speciality, Well Child / Tamariki Ora, Child & Family Health, Advanced Child Health Assessment, Health Promotion, Adult Teaching, OP 4098 Assessment paper.
BCG Gazetted.
Completion of relevant World Health Organisation (WHO) Health Academy online eLearning.
Knowledge of Primary Practices Patient Management Systems (PMS) Indici, Medtech32 etc.
Knowledge of Te Reo and Tikanga.
PDRP Expert / Senior Nurses.
