Our new Human Rights, Responsible Sourcing and Sustainability Specialist will drive the implementation of Countdown’s Responsible Sourcing Policy, implement sustainability goals and lead our commitment to upholding human rights in our supply chain.Some of your new responsibilities will be:Communicate, manage and monitor supplier compliance with the Woolworths Group Responsible Sourcing Policy and Standards, and sustainability requirementsSupport our Own Brand product development pipeline process to ensure integration of responsible sourcing and sustainable sourcing considerationsProvide technical advice and resolve responsible sourcing and sustainable sourcing questionsReview and interpret information provided by suppliers including audits, remediation plans and progress reports and work with suppliers on their correction of non-conformancesSupport investigations when alleged breaches to the Responsible Sourcing Policy are raisedSupport the rollout of training to relevant internal teams on responsible and sustainable sourcingSupport our supplier community on issues relating to responsible and sustainable sourcingManage reporting process for responsible and sustainable sourcingMonitor regulatory, competitor and media developments relating to responsible and sustainable sourcingSupport the development of new responsible sourcing and sustainable sourcing commitmentsWhat we are looking for: Must have:Relevant degree or equivalent formal qualification in related discipline e.g. human rights, a social discipline, law or similar, or equivalent prior experience working in the field of responsible sourcing, compliance and auditingDemonstrate knowledge and understanding of compliance requirements, standards and emerging issues in responsible and sustainable sourcingRisk management experience in identifying trends in responsible sourcing, in order to assess the risks and opportunitiesAbility to engage and communicate with all stakeholders with differing interests and prioritiesAbility to operate in a fast paced environment, work under pressure and meet deadlinesPreferred:Experience working with third party sustainability certifiers e.g. Fair Trade, UTZ, Forest Stewardship Council, Marine Stewardship CouncilA broad knowledge of global and domestic supply chain issues particularly in the high risk areas such as horticultureAbility to horizon scan local and international market for regulatory, consumer and competitor trends to ensure our policies are fit for purposeSustainability/Corporate Social Responsibility experience in retail or FMCG environmentPlease note the role may include some travel and work to manage issues out of hours.Joining the TeamAs an inclusive, team-first company, our people are at the core of everything we do.
