About us:
Operating since 1994, Home Support North is the largest provider of home and community support in Northland. We have offices in Whangarei and Kerikeri. We have a staff compliment of approximately 300 staff. Our current contracts with the Ministry of Health and the Northland District Health Board are to supply home based support (domestic assistance and personal care) to disabled people of all ages in Northland. The majority of our clients are over 65 years old and have an age related disability.
About the role:
We have an opportunity for an HR Specialist to take our HR Services/systems to the next level.
As the HR Advisor, you will:
Work closely with the Corporate Services Manager and other senior staff to align the organisation to the changing needs of the business.
You will manage a wide range of HR Services from employee relations, Collective agreements, performance management, training and development, recruitment and HR Development.
You will provide effective solutions to complex matters and also manage two direct HR Administration reports (Recruitment Admin and Trainer).
You will engage with senior managers and stakeholders to provide proactive HR Support and guidance.
You will support health and safety initiatives and ensure compliance with the organization's Health & Safety processes and procedures.
You will provide performance management advice.
You will support and train to drive a high-performance culture across the organisation, including completing general administration duties.
Support continuous improvement of our processes.
To be successful in this role you will:
Partner with the Corporate Services Manager and other senior staff to develop comprehensive people strategies aligned with business objectives in a ''non for profit'' environment.
You will provide effective HR Services in line with the organisation's strategic direction.
Act as a change agent to manage change and transformation effectively.
You will provide leadership and support to managers on employment matters.
The ideal candidate will bring:
Experienced in a wide range of HR/People issues where HR is viewed as a valued and trusted advisor within the organisation. Sound HR knowledge (potentially gained through tertiary study) together with good business acumen.
Strong engagement skills with the ability to navigate complex relationships and influence at all levels.
A proactive and adaptable mindset, capable of handling ambiguity.
Strong ability to coach managers through best HR Practice.
Demonstrated experience in managing ER related queries and issues.
Proficient in MS Office Suite; experience using HRIS ideal.
Strong problem-solving skills and the desire to improve and streamline the delivery of HR services.
Experience working in a unionized environment is advantageous but not a requirement.
Previous experience implementing an HRIS may be advantageous.
