Join our newly shaped Pumanawa Tangata, People and Safety team and provide strategic advice and support to two of our strategic business groups.
Reporting to our Heads of Business Partnering, we have HR Business Partner positions available for experienced and passionate HR practitioners who are committed to enabling our organisation to achieve its outcomes by unleashing people's potential and creating an awesome place to work.
Specifically, we are looking for an Auckland or Wellington based practitioner to support our Digital business group in their agile journey and to deliver on their purpose. We are also looking for an HRBP (Auckland based) to support our Transport Services business group.
Key to your success in these roles will be your ability to develop effective partnerships, influencing and supporting senior business leaders and people managers to drive their people plans and deliver improved business results. You will not be afraid to challenge the status quo and you will be someone who has a great understanding of people levers and how to use them.
You will be a trusted advisor on all people related matters ensuring we have the right people in the right roles being supported to work to their full potential. To be successful in this role, you will have strong experience in employment relations and organisational design and change management. You will also be confident in talent management, reward and performance management and standard cyclical HR practices.
You will be required to manage a small team of HR Advisors, coaching and mentoring them to support the business in best practice HR.

Ko koe tenei | About you A degree in Human Resources or other related field or equivalent 6 years relevant work experience Experience working within an agile environment (Digital role) or experience working with Engineers or on large scale infrastructure programmes (Transport Services roles) is desirable Proven strong foundation and knowledge of HR and OD principles and practice including best practice, employment law, compliance requirements and intervention options Proven strong generalist experience across the range of HR and related activity including employment relations issues, change, performance management etc and very strong experience across a number of HR specialty areas Experience of aligning HR strategies to business needs Experience of championing change, winning buy in from Group leadership and working through resistance Experience of leading HR professionals, role modelling inclusive management behaviours, raising standards, and improving the profile of People & Safety group within the business You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Maori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Maori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi as it applies in the public sector.
