We have an opportunity available for a Hostel Prep Supervisor at Scotlands Hostel for eight hours a week during school term times. The hours of work are from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, Monday to Thursday, during the evening homework slot.
We are seeking a candidate who not only enjoys helping young people achieve but is also enthusiastic. The successful applicant will love a challenge and be confident to work with teenagers.
The role of a Prep Supervisor involves supervising, assisting and encouraging our boarders to strive for personal excellence. This includes providing guidance to support students as they complete assignments. The Prep Supervisor works closely with teachers and staff to foster a supportive and structured environment that promotes academic achievement and has overall responsibility for the prep programmes of work.
Requirements
Previous experience of working with students in an educational setting.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with students of different backgrounds and learning styles.
Willingness to collaborate with other staff.
Initiative and a helpful attitude.
Familiarity with current learning tools.
Teaching experience would be advantageous and may suit a part-time teacher or relief teacher seeking additional evening hours.
Scotlands Hostel offers a warm, welcoming environment and is a 'home from home' for our boarders. There is the option to purchase a school hostel dinner for $5.00 prior to commencing shifts.
The position is to start at the beginning of Term 1, 2025.
