Laboratory & Technical Services (Science & Technology)Awanui Labs Taranaki provides high quality diagnostic pathology services to the community, health care professionals and their patients. Awanui Labs Taranaki is owned by Awanui Group (Previously known as Asia Pacific Healthcare Group), a healthcare company committed to providing facilities and services that deliver exceptional care to its clients.Our Taranaki laboratory provides community pathology services, serving a population of approximately 125,000.About the role | Mo te turanga:Oversee the Biochemistry Department, ensuring high-quality services, maintaining a stable and motivated team through an open, collaborative, and supportive work environment.Work closely with the core laboratory management team to ensure the effective day-to-day running of the department, collaborating on staffing, staff reviews, rostering, and leave management.Support the professional growth and development of team members by providing technical advice, training, and education.Collaborate with the Pathologists to ensure seamless operations and optimal patient care.Participate in future planning and policy setting for the department, contributing to its growth and success.Monitor and manage efficient stock control and consumables usage to minimize waste and maintain cost-effectiveness.Introduce appropriate methodologies to the laboratory, optimizing processes to enhance service quality.Organise and prioritise workflow efficiently to meet the company's and client's requirements effectively.To be considered for this role you will need to have:Registered as a Medical Laboratory Scientist with a specialization in Biochemistry.Ideally a minimum of 5 years of experience working in the field of Biochemistry.Proven leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.Demonstrated expertise in Biochemistry and a thorough understanding of laboratory protocols and practices.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective collaboration and rapport with team members and stakeholders.Flexibility to work Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings, with potential after-hour support as required.What's in it for you | He aha mou:Fully supportive operational team environment with supportive development programs for personal growth.Access to EAP and company's Health & Wellbeing programs.If you are ready to make a significant impact in the healthcare sector, thrive in a dynamic environment, and lead a dedicated team in the pursuit of excellence, we encourage you to apply now with your updated CV and a cover letter.
