The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a casual Health Care Assistant.
Working in the Operating Theatre Department reporting to the Theatre Charge Nurse, the Healthcare Assistant is a critical member of the team, assisting with patient activities in the theatre environment under the supervision of our highly skilled Registered Nurses and Anaesthetic Technicians.
To be successful in this role you will:
Have previous experience in a Health Care Assistant or similar role, where you are comfortable taking directions from others and contributing positively to the team culture;
Ideally understand the operating theatre environment and demonstrate a willingness to work across a variety of tasks;
Remain calm and collected in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment;
Possess a can-do attitude, and a strong customer service ethos to ensure excellent customer service to both patients and specialists;
A NZQA Health Care Assistant Programme Certificate is desirable, but not essential;
CPR/First Aid Certificate (or a willingness to participate in training to achieve certification); and
A current full driver's licence.
