About the school
The school is part of a MAT that consists of several SEND schools. The school is an alternative provision that provides education for boys aged 8 – 14 who have been permanently excluded or are at risk of permanent exclusion from mainstream schools. The school believes that with the right support for their Social, Emotional and/or Mental Health (SEMH) needs, their children and young people can learn to change their behaviour, to re-engage positively with learning, and prepare for life as a successful citizen.
Through a trauma-informed approach, they aim to provide a caring, supporting and challenging learning environment in which students will overcome their barriers to learning and successfully reintegrate into their local mainstream school or another appropriate education provider. The school has a mixture of day and residential students as boarding places are offered to children designated as having SEMH needs whose life at home can impact adversely upon their engagement with education.
Requirements include:
Teaching qualification with QTS / QTLS (essential)
Completed NPQH or working towards it (desirable)
Senior leadership experience within a special educational setting
