HEAD OF PARTICIPATION AND EDUCATION – COMMUNITY RUGBY WELLINGTON RUGBY FOOTBALL UNION About the Role: Wellington Rugby is seeking an experienced and passionate leader to fill the role of Head of Participation and Education, supporting the growth and development of community rugby throughout the Wellington region.
This pivotal role will drive the operational and strategic initiatives that ensure the success of our amateur rugby programs, with a focus on inclusivity and engagement across Junior, Women's, Maori and Pasifika, and Secondary School rugby.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and implement the annual community rugby plan in collaboration with the Head of Operations, aligned with the Board's objectives.Provide policy guidance and strategic advice to the CEO and Boards on all matters related to community participation and education.Oversee and support rugby activations and initiatives throughout the region, fostering increased participation.Design and deliver player and coach development programs for both male and female players.Partner with the Communications Manager to execute a comprehensive community rugby communications plan.Work closely with the Referee Education Officer and Wellington Rugby Referees Association to boost referee recruitment.Lead budgeting, scheduling, and project management for the participation and education team.Prepare and present progress reports for the Board of Directors, Rugby Board, and CEO.Qualifications and Skills Required: Strong organisational skills with a proven ability to lead both operational and strategic projects.Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders and facilitate conflict resolution.Demonstrated experience in budget management and reporting.Knowledge and passion for the game of rugby, with prior experience in rugby or sports administration a plus.A tertiary qualification in business administration or project management is preferred.How to Apply: If you're passionate about community rugby and have the skills to lead participation and education initiatives in our region, apply now by submitting your resume and cover letter via SEEK by Wednesday 6 November 2024.
