Gymnastics New Zealand is the recognised National Sports Organisation responsible for the development, promotion and governance of Rhythmic and Artistic Gymnastics, Aerobics, Trampoline, Tumbling, Parkour and Gym for All. We are a forward-thinking, dynamic organisation who value hard work and fun in equal measures.
We are seeking applicants for the role of Performance and Tours Manager. This role will be responsible for the delivery of all performance pathways activity including tours delivery and national squad coordination. The successful candidate can be based anywhere within New Zealand. The role would ideally suit individuals with knowledge and experience in performance level sport, international tours coordination and event management. Gymnastics-specific knowledge is a benefit but not a pre-requisite for this role. This role is positioned at approximately 32 hours / week.
The core activity of the Performance and Tours Manager role will include:
Qualification, Nomination, and Selection support
International Events Coordination
Relationship Management and Communications
Performance Pathway Activity e.g., Squad coordination
NZ Championships (Nationals) support
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
Strong background in sports management, with experience in high-performance environments.
Excellent organizational and project management skills, with an ability to handle complex logistics.
Exceptional communication and relationship management capabilities.
Proven track record of budget management and financial planning.
Deep understanding of gymnastics as a sport and the specific needs of athletes and coaches.
Proficiency in intermediate Excel.
This role provides an exciting sport management opportunity to help develop our performance pathways and will require a candidate who is self-motivated, able to work in a dynamic environment with competing priorities, and who is passionate about sport.
Periodic travel is required, including attending national events and training clinics.
