You'll be involved in all aspects of keeping our customers safe: from fraud investigations and risk management to building policies and procedures to inform the rest of the team. And because we are a small team, this is a unique opportunity to gain exposure across multiple facets of a fast-growing startup, working alongside some of the brightest minds in the industry.Key Responsibilities:Risk Framework Development: Assist in the day-to-day development and refinement of our risk framework, ensuring it aligns with both regulatory requirements and business needs.Fraud and AML Investigations: Participate in fraud and money laundering investigations, conducting research, preparing reports, and assisting with risk assessments.Conducting customer due diligence: Helping our customers to get onboarded when complex entities are involved (i.e., trusts, nominee companies etc).Transaction monitoring: Investigating anomalous transactions and behaviours from our customers to identify bad actors.Communicating recommendations to build out our compliance stack: This could be anything from additional transaction monitoring rules, how we combat new fraud risks, and ways we can continue to protect our customers.Drafting risk assessments as we build new features for our customers: Identifying risks with any new feature and working alongside product, UX and developers on ensuring regulatory compliance.We don't expect you to know how to do the key responsibilities from day one. We will provide you with the training and support you need to thrive in this role.Qualifications:Educational Background:Degree in LLB or major in Commercial Law, and Information Systems or Accounting.Don't worry if you don't meet all the requirements. We would love to hear from anyone that can demonstrate critical thinking, problem solving and attention to detail.Minimum GPA of 6.0 in your major.Skills & Experience:Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.A demonstrated interest in financial services, law or advocacy.Ability to juggle multiple tasks and take initiative in a dynamic startup environment.About You:Consulting-Inspired or Entrepreneurial: You've probably applied to consulting firms but feel something is missing.
