About the Opportunity With some of our team moving up the ranks, we have an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and switched-on Graduate Planner to join us in supporting the processing of resource consent applications from ratepayers and developers, in line with the Resource Management Act (RMA). At Kaipara District Council, you won't be rotating between departments or confined to an office all day. You'll dive straight into action, working with a friendly team of resource consent experts on a wide range of projects. From helping applicants navigate the Resource Management Act (RMA) to ensuring high-quality outcomes for our community, this role offers a dynamic and rewarding experience. Here's a taste of your daily adventure: Assisting customers with planning queries - you'll be their go-to expert! Ensuring everyone plays by the rules - compliance is key! Supporting post-consent action. Giving building consent applications a once-over for planning matters (PIM) - a great way to master the District Plan! All while enjoying the sunny Kaipara environment. About You Are you fresh out of uni and ready to dive headfirst into the world of resource consents? What you'll bring to the team: A solid understanding of the Resource Management Act (don't worry, we'll help you build on it!) Strong time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks while meeting deadlines. Confidence using Microsoft applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. The ability to keep things confidential and stay neutral when needed. A basic understanding of how Local Government works (we'll guide you through the finer details!).
