The Softgel Machine Operator role involves all the activities related to the production of encapsulated dietary supplements, including the mixing & cooking of materials (oils and gelatin) with a focus on the continuous improvement of the quality of products produced.
This is a fixed-term full-time role based at our factory in Mangere, Auckland. Working hours are Monday - Friday 6:30am - 3:00pm. This will be a project-related role; for that reason, this is a 3 - 4 months contract only.
Role-specific tasks:
Setting up machinery according to standard operating procedure.
Dispensing of material according to the bill of material.
Blending and cooking of ingredients and gelatin according to batch document.
Operating the soft gel encapsulation machine according to standard operating procedure and batch document, to produce the capsules.
Performing in-process checks according to batch documents and standard operating procedures.
Cleaning of production area and machine according to standard operating procedure.
Identify any capsule problems and addressing them before continuing with production.

The successful candidate will have:
Available to start immediately
Valid working rights for New Zealand
Previous experience in a factory environment or operating similar machinery is beneficial
Good written and spoken communication skills
A good level of physical fitness as there are often long periods of standing
Strong adherence to workplace Health and Safety practices
The ability to work in a team environment
Excellent attention to detail
An understanding of the importance of working to strict deadlines
Not be allergic to seafood (Some supplements contain various fish oils)
Mechanical-minded, understanding of machines.
