With a mission of He Korowai Manaaki, or a cloak of care and support, Te Kaika takes a holistic approach to deliver a broad range of low-cost services that include but are not limited to; medical care, dental treatment, physiotherapy, outreach social services, exercise programmes, and appointments with our Ministry of Social Development caseworkers.

About the Role The General Practitioner (GP) in this role applies knowledge and skills to provide personal, family, whanau and community orientated comprehensive general practice primary care services to individuals.
As part of the general practice team, the GP is responsible for providing patient-centred, culturally appropriate, and individual holistic care to a defined population.
Patients should feel that they have been dealt with in a professional, friendly and courteous manner.
We are open to discussion around a dedicated and compassionate Virtual General Practitioner to join our innovative healthcare team.
In this role, you will provide high-quality medical care and support through virtual consultations.
Responsibilities Include Clinical Services;  Providing medical services including assessment, diagnosis, treatment and referral as necessary.Assessing the urgency and severity of presenting problems through history-taking, examination and investigation.Maintaining Health; Delivering timely clinical and culturally appropriate health services through ongoing health and development assessment and advice.Implementing evidence-based screening, risk assessment, and early detection of illness, disease, and disability.Coordinating with public health providers in the prevention and control of communicable diseases for individuals and whanau and reporting to relevant public health providersCoordinating Care; Working closely with the nursing team to provide clinical guidance, assistance, education, and support.Ensuring immunisation programmes are available to the practice populationProviding education to patients on appropriate use and entitlements to health care access provided by Te Kaika.Working with the social services team to access care and interventions where appropriateIncome Performance; To meet billable income (non-capitation), a target will be reviewed per sessions on average when working core clinical sessions.
Qualifications Must maintain or is working towards Fellowship of RNZCGP A professional development plan is required for Mops, GPEP2 and BPACHow to Apply Applications must include a CV and cover letter.
