Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua | MidCentral have an exciting opportunity for a General Medicine Physician to join our service! You will join a diverse and dynamic Internal Medicine team of 13 physicians with a range of sub-specialties, providing medical services to our community. Palmerston North Hospital is a 360 bed regional hospital in the lower North Island providing most medical and surgical specialties, excluding neurosurgery, plastics and cardiothoracic. It is an exciting time to join MidCentral, with several new facilities including a new Medical Assessment & Planning Unit (MAPU), ED Observation Area along with our SPIRE project, which will see added operating theatres and an interventional cardiac catheterisation lab. This role is made up of inpatient and outpatient clinical responsibilities as well as dedicated time reserved for administrative tasks. You will also take part in an acute General Medicine on-call roster with registrar support. We are keen to hear from consultants with a broad internal medicine background who may be dual trained; our team will support your interest in the relevant service. We would be particularly interested in hearing from consultants with expertise in Rheumatology, Endocrine, and Infectious Diseases. In addition to the above – we have a leadership opportunity! This will offer a great combination of leadership and clinical work , which will allow you to continue doing the work you are passionate about while contributing to the leadership across our General Medicine Department.
