We have a wonderful opportunity for a Front-End Developer / Graphic Designer where you will be looking after web development for our Apex brand whilst also working closely with our marketing team! Exciting role with both Front-End Development and Design Full Time, permanent role Christchurch based Supportive, friendly, and caring culture Large, stable organisation with well-known brands About the Role As the Front-End Web Developer with graphic design skills at Apex, you will play a crucial role in creating intuitive and visually appealing websites that attract and engage our target audience. You will collaborate closely with our marketing team to ensure seamless integration of front-end elements with back-end functionality. Your expertise in digital marketing and SEO will be instrumental in optimizing our web presence for maximum visibility and effectiveness. Key responsibilities will include: Design and develop visually appealing and user-friendly websites using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Responsive framework (Skel.js), JQuery / JQuery UI, XML, ASP.net web forms, VB.net, Webservices integration, MsSql database and AWS S3. Create engaging graphics, icons, and multimedia elements that enhance the overall user interface and experience. Implement SEO best practices to optimize website performance, drive organic traffic, and improve Search Engine rankings. Collaborate closely with the marketing team to integrate digital marketing strategies, including email campaigns, social media marketing, PPC advertising, etc. Translate UI/UX design wireframes into functional front-end code, ensuring technical feasibility and cross-browser compatibility. Optimize websites for speed, responsiveness, and scalability. Conduct usability tests and performance tests to identify and resolve user/technical issues. Monitor and analyse website traffic and user behaviour using tools such as Google Analytics & SEMrush. Generate ideas and execute strategies to improve website conversion rates and user engagement through CRO techniques. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in front-end development, graphic design, digital marketing, and SEO. What we are looking for: Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Graphic Design, Digital Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Experience: Proven work experience as a Front-End Developer/Graphic Designer, or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing ecommerce web development and graphic design projects. Solid understanding of SEO principles, tactics and techniques and best practices, with hands-on experience in optimizing websites for search engines. Knowledge of SEO tools and analytics platforms such as Google Analytics, SEMrush, Moz, etc. will be highly beneficial. Technical: Proficiency in front-end development languages and frameworks such as ASP.net, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery etc. Knowledge of CSS and build tools (e.g., Visual Studio, GIT). Experience with graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premier Pro Video Editing). Experience with responsive and adaptive design techniques. Understanding of back-end development languages (e.g., ASP.net). In addition to the above you will need problem-solving skills and attention to detail. You will also need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work as part of a team and across departments/functions. You will be working with people from different backgrounds including end users at all levels within the organisation.
