Due to one of our team heading off on maternity leave, our busy on-site cafeteria is looking for an energetic Café Assistant to join them in the New Year.
This is a full-time, 11-month fixed-term position starting in January 2025 based at NZ Steel in Glenbrook.
About the roleWhile working as part of a close-knit and friendly team, you'll spend a lot of time on your feet making barista coffee, assisting in food preparation, keeping cabinets stocked, serving customers, running the till, and keeping the kitchen clean, tidy, and functional. You will be joining a busy and fast-paced environment.
Our café operates Monday to Friday and will include working between the hours of 6am and 8pm; the hours of work may vary to meet operational requirements.
What you will bring to the roleExperience working in hospitality, particularly as a barista, is preferred; however, at NZ Steel, we value personality, attitude, and a willingness to learn above all else.
You will be dedicated to providing exceptional customer service, and your energy and enthusiasm will be the key to your success in this role. Full training will be provided to the right candidate, and our hardworking and helpful team will induct you to our way of life. You will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be a multi-tasking master.
