We are looking for a welder to join the team.
This is a permanent role.
Full time, working 40 hours per week. Overtime available.
Monday - Friday with weekend jobs available.
You will be based in West Coast.
What you will do
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Assist with maintaining and servicing mechanical systems, including gold screens and machinery, based on preventive maintenance schedules and emergency repairs
Lead welding tasks (FCAW 6G) on pipes and structures, ensuring high-quality standards in line with AWS certifications
Support the installation of new equipment on-site and participate in continuous improvement projects
Maintain detailed logs of work performed, including repairs and maintenance
Assist the team with breakdown repairs, ensuring smooth and efficient operations
Contribute to preventive maintenance and refurbishment of equipment
Ensure housekeeping and safety are maintained in line with site requirements
The successful applicant will
Minimum 3-year relevant and verifiable experience in a similar role.
Experience in FCAW 6G for both piping and structural work is advantageous
Must have a good level of spoken and written English
Have good customer relation skills, remaining calm and controlled even when the pressure is on
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Essential Knowledge of Health and Safety and the hazards of operating on construction sites
Be fit and healthy and must pass a drug test
Have a positive can-do attitude
Willing to undergo pre-employment drug screening
Able to complete basic paperwork when needed
Able to problem solve and manage time well
You must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand
