About the job:
This key role will oversee and enhance our financial reporting processes, controls, and cash flow management, while providing strategic insight into the company's financial health.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and review monthly financial statements, accounting files and monthly/quarterly reporting packs.
Analyse variances, identify discrepancies, and provide detailed insights.
Lead cash flow management and reporting to maintain liquidity.
Financial Control & Compliance:
Lead and monitor financial forecasts and ensure compliance with financial covenants and IFRS 16.
Coordinate audits, tax reporting, and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
Assess and manage financial risks to ensure business stability.
General Financial Management:
Work with department heads to develop, track, and manage budgets.
Review financial statements (P&L, balance sheets, cash flow) for accuracy.
Continue to add to internal audit procedures, including testing and management of internal audit.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
Align financial goals with business units across the company.
Manage key vendor and customer relationships to support financial objectives.
Work closely with CFO and Commercial Analyst to develop financial models for strategic initiatives, including M&A activities.
Other Duties:
Oversee regulatory filings and ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
Drive continuous improvement in financial operations and reporting processes.
About the candidate:
To succeed in this role you will have CA or equivalent qualification and at least 5 years' experience in financial accounting, reporting, and systems, ideally within a high-growth, medium-sized business.
Other requirements:
Strong understanding of standard costing systems, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with BI systems.
Experience with ERP, AP automation and other business systems.
Knowledge of NZ IFRS/NZ IFRS RDR is a plus.
Proven experience in financial systems and business process improvement.
