He korero whakamarama mo tenei turanga | About the role We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented part time Financial Analyst to join our Petone based team.
This role is crucial in ensuring efficient and timely value add reporting and planning.
This role will be largely supporting modelling exercises in Excel such as updating current models and maintaining the budget model as part of the budget planning.
Flexibility Average 20 hours per week, but we are comfortable that these may vary week to week (i.e.
16 hours one week and 24 the next).
In the first few months we would expect the candidate to work mostly from the Petone office, but once up and running we are very open to flexible working arrangements to be agreed with your manager and your fellow analyst.
Update existing models The following models require optimisation or rebuilding (they may be maintained by other staff but can be improved by the Financial Analyst): A board pack Excel model (monthly P&L, B/S, Cashflow, debtors, bank covenants etc).
The purpose of this model is to present the financials in a certain format and to provide quick access to underlying data and analysis that sits behind the board pack.
Volume and price modelling for revenue budgeting and monitoring.
Initial models have been developed but need refining to be used monthly to review performance.
FTE modelling for budgeting and monitoring.
This is a new requirement and is yet to be built.
Financial normalisation modelling outside of the accounts.
Long term cash flow modelling to support cash flow risk analysis.
Goodwill impairment testing.
Intangible Asset valuation maintenance (useful but not compulsory knowledge for the candidate).
Leave valuation tool.
Support Financial team & management as required.
Undertake the above in a best practice and tidy manner, looking for ways to increase the speed and accuracy with which the information can be produced.
Nga tohungatanga mo tenei turanga | Skills and experience Possess a strong work ethic and solutions focused character in an exciting and evolving recruitment environment.
Proven experience in best practice excel modelling.
For example, you have built Excel valuation models, planning models, three way financial models.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
Experience with Xero, Xero add on applications and PowerBI nice to have but not essential.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Strong communication skills, with ability to support and work within team environment.
